Did You Know?
Did you know that most FSA/HSA plans can save you money on sunscreen products? FSAs (flexible spending accounts) and HSAs (health savings accounts) are employee benefits that let you set aside pre-tax dollars for specific healthcare expenses, like healthcare co-pays, certain medications and SPF. Always check with your employer's plan for details on what qualifies, as plans do vary.
Why is Sunscreen FSA/HSA eligible?
Sunscreen typically falls under the umbrella of FSA / HSA covered medical expenses because it is considered a non-prescription over-the counter medication. Sunscreen can have an impact on decreasing your chances of sunburn, the first signs of ageing, and even skin cancer prevention.
How do I spend my FSA/HSA dollars on Hello Sunday products?
Make sure you are enrolled in FSA/HSA benefits directly through your employer and check with your employer's plan to see what's covered. Then you can use the card issued by your benefits provider at checkout, just like a credit card. If you are not supplied a card, check with your benefit's provider to see how a claim can be made.

Do FSA/HSA benefits expire?
The money you put into the FSA/ HSA often needs to be used within the year (or within the grace period offered by your employer), otherwise you lose out on the money you put aside. That’s why it’s important to know expiration guidelines and what expenses fall within the approved list from your benefit's provider— you may be surprised to find that the list includes most sunscreen and other skincare products.

Are all sunscreens FSA/HSA eligible?
Not all SPF’s are created equal. To qualify for most plans, it must meet certain FDA requirements:
1) The primary purpose must be to protect your skin from harmful effects of the sun.
2) It must be broad spectrum and protect against both UVA (ageing) and UVB (sun burn) rays.
3) It must be SPF 15 or higher
All of the Hello Sunday products are broad spectrum UVA/ UVB with SPF 45+ or higher!
It's important to note that plans vary, so be sure to check with your employer for details on what qualifies.
